Late Goal Lifts Devils Over Golden Wolves

BOX SCORE Madison, NJ (September 5, 2021) - A goal in the 87th minute by FDU-Florham (2-1) broke a 1-1 tie to give the Devils the 2-1 win over Alvernia University (0-2) on Sunday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action at FDU.

Alvernia found the net first, with Kyla Gibson finding the back of the net off a long ball in by Grace Silva to put Alvernia up 1-0 late in the 4th minute.

The Devils evened it up in the final seconds of the first half with Ashley Dietrich making it 1-1.

Both teams would remain locked at 1-1 for the next 41 minutes until Madison Kleinwaks broke the 1-1 tie and gave FDU a 2-1 advantage with just over three minutes remaining.

Alvernia would not get a shot off the rest of the way as FDU came away with the 2-1 win.

Katelyn Dreibelbis and Brynn Bock split time in goal for Alvernia, combining for nine saves.
