Camden, NJ (Oct. 9, 2022) - Alvernia University (9-8) picked up two wins on Sunday afternoon at the Rutgers-Camden Tri-Match in non-conference volleyball action at Camden.

The Golden Wolves picked up 3-0 wins over the host Raptors (7-9) and Brooklyn College (11-10).

Later in the set, Alvernia extended its lead to 20-14 on a block by McGlone and Sipling, but Camden followed with a 6-2 run to get back within two, 22-20. A kill from Presley Carnes and an ace by Jamie Pierce got Alvernia to set point, and a kill by Jordan Thompson sealed the set, 25-21.

In set two, the Golden Wolves and Raptors traded runs early and were locked at 8-8 early on. With Alvernia holding a narrow 10-9, a Raptor service error sparked a 7-0 run for Alvernia that gave the Golden Wolves the 17-9 lead. Alvernia continued to roll through the rest of the set and an ace by Pierce gave Alvernia the final point of the 25-16 set win.

In the third set of the first match, Alvernia held a narrow 18-17 lead over the Raptors late. But, the Golden Wolves put up seven unanswered to win the set, 25-17, and match, 3-0. The final 7-0 run included three aces by Abigail McGinley.
