Mahwah, NJ (Nov. 12, 2022) - A goal by Hailey Miller in the 39th minute was the difference maker as Alvernia University (14-6) defeated Ramapo University (11-7) on Saturday afternoon in the first game of the ECAC Championship on Saturday at Ramapo.

The Game was locked in a scoreless tie much of the way until Kathryn Palmer found Miller late in the 39th minute to put the Golden Wolves on the board, 1-0.

Alvernia's defense was spectacular in the second half, allowing just two shots - both of which were saved by Alvernia goalie Lexi Boetthcer - in the second half.

Alvernia outshot the Roadrunners 37-8 on the afternoon, including 22-6 on net. The Golden Wolves also finished with 20 corners to Ramapo's six.

Boettcher finished with six saves on the game.

Alvernia will have a quick turnaround as the Golden Wolves host Kean University tomorrow at 2:00 PM for the ECAC Championship.
