Colmar, Pa. (Feb. 6, 2022) - Arcadia University (7-9, 8-13) netted a game-winner just 54 seconds into overtime to down Alvernia University (9-10, 7-7-1) 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in MAC and UCHC women's ice hockey action at Arcadia.

Alvernia had two power play opportunities in the first period, but were unable to get anything going as the first period ended locked at 0-0.

The second period saw Arcadia's offensive pressure amp up, as the Knights outshot Alvernia 12-3. Alvernia's defense held tough, though, as goalie Julia Beaven kept the game tied at 0-0 with 12 saves in the period. 

Arcadia again out shot Alvernia in the third period, 14-6. The Golden Wolves continued to keep the Knights off the board and successfully killed off Arcadia's only power-play of the game to force overtime for the second time of the series. 

After overtime between Alvernia and Arcadia on Friday night went to the very last second with Alvernia coming out on top, this time around Arcadia needed just under a minute to secure the win.

The Knights had a two-on-one opportunity and scored the golden-goal on a cross-crease pass from Karahkwene White to Berklee Hibbard for the 1-0 win.

Alex Robertson led Alvernia's faceoff with 12 wins, and Beaven finished the game with 34 saves in net for Alvernia.

The Golden Wolves return to action on Friday at home against Nazareth.
