Despite the deficit, the Mustang's offense responded, going on a 4-0 run to draw the contest even at 13 apiece.

The rest of the set was back and forth, with neither team able to gain a firm grip on the contest. Brady Correll and Rea were key contributors in the close set, helping guide the Golden Wolves' offense. The Mustang's offense overcame Alvernia's push, using a 5-2 run to claim the set, 25-22.

The third set saw Stevenson open on a 5-1 run before Anderson helped bring the contest to within two with a pair of kills.
