Reading, Pa. (March 19, 2022) - McDaniel College (3-4) jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back as the Green Terror defeated Alvernia University (0-6) 20-2 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

McDaniel took the opening faceoff right to net to go up 1-0 early. The Green Terror added two more in the next two and a half minutes to take a 3-0 lead.

McDaniel kept it up over the rest of the first quarter, leading 9-0 with 2:36 to play in the opening frame. 

Alvernia got on the board with a Louis Ferrara goal with just over a minute remaining to make it a 9-1 game going into the second.

McDaniel held Alvernia scoreless in the second quarter while adding four to its lead to take a 13-1 advantage into the third quarter.

The Green Terror again held Alvernia scoreless in the third quarter while adding six more to its lead to make it a 19-1 game going into the final 15 minutes.

Alvernia held McDaniel to just one goal in the fourth quarter, but only scored one of its own - a low shot from Cade Campbell as he crossed in front of the net - to make it a 20-2 final.

Dane Sabarese and Jared Devine split the game in net for Alvernia. Sabarese made nine saves and Devine made four.  Ryan Gilman led Alvernia with five faceoff wins.

The Golden Wolves return to action on Wednesday at Cairn University.
