Frederick, Md. (April 2, 2022) - Alvernia University (3-2) rolled to a 9-0 win over Hood College (1-4) to open MAC Commonwealth on Saturday afternoon at Hood.

Alvernia went up 3-0 early after wins by Michael Brophy and Kevin Angeles at #1 doubles and Lucas Berger and Jayden Lewis at #2 doubles. The Blazers forfeited #3 doubles for the 3-0 lead for Alvernia going into singles play.

Each Alvernia athlete then took wins in straight sets for the 9-0 win for the Golden Wolves. Berger, Drew Heinzelmann, Lewis, and Thomas Figurelli did not allow a game win in their matches. 

Alvernia returns to action on Tuesday, hosting Lebanon Valley.
