York, Pa. (April 30, 2022)- Alvernia University (11-4, 5-2) dropped its match against York (8-4, 6-1) 7-2 this afternoon in a MAC Commonwealth women's tennis matchup at York College.

Alvernia recorded its second point of the day in #2 doubles, with Jacklyn Checo Mercado and Jillian Laughman securing the win. Checo Mercado and Laughman ended the matchup with an 8-3 win.

The Golden Wolves secured their second point of the contest in #2 Singles from a win by Laughman. Laughman picked up the first set 6-4 before claiming the second set 6-3.

With this loss to York, Alvernia is now placed third heading into the MAC Commonwealth Championships.

#3 Alvernia returns to action Tuesday as they take on #2 York in the first round of the MAC Commonwealth Championships at York.
