Reading, Pa (Sept. 10, 2022) - Alvernia University (0-2-2) could not hold off Penn State Berks (3-1) as the Lions defeated Alvernia 2-0 in non-conference women's soccer action Saturday afternoon at Penn State Berks. 

Adriana Lepera and Emily Clapper both scored goals for Berks in the win. 

Penn State Berks controlled the first half with eight shots, with five of them being saved by Alvernia's Brynn Bock. 

Penn State Berks opened up the scoring when Diana Pon and Emily Clapper assisted Adriana Lepera to put Berks in the lead just five minutes into the second half. 

Penn State Berks scored again when Pon sent a cross in on a free kick and found Emily Clapper who scored to extend the lead to 2-0 with 35 minutes to go in the game. 

The Golden Wolves would threaten with six shots coming in the second half, but could not convert. 

The Golden Wolves were led by Haley Dougherty with five shots and Brynn Bock ended with 11 saves. 

The Golden Wolves are back in action Tuesday when they host Cedar Crest College. Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM.
