Elizabethtown, Pa. (Sept. 14, 2022) - Alvernia University (2-1-2) and Elizabethtown College (2-2-1) played to a 0–0 draw on Wednesday night in non-conference men's soccer action at Elizabethtown.

The game marked the annual Kicks for Cancer game between the Golden Wolves and Blue Jays.

The Golden Wolves tallied three shots in the first 45 minutes of play with Nick Denlinger and Eli Klinger each having one, and Nick Willson tallied another that was saved. 

Alvernia opened the second half firing with Denlinger firing two shots on goal that were saved, and Austin Chambers added another that was also saved. 

Alvernia's Ryan Cogill fired a shot in the 73rd minute of play that was saved by Elizabethtown's keeper Kevin Del Cid. 

The Golden Wolves won a free kick in the closing 30 seconds of the game but could not convert as they played to a hard fought 0-0 draw. 

The Golden Wolves outshot the Blue Jays 7-2 in the second half and 10-6 overall. 

Alvernia's Evan Solley recorded two saves in the contest and recorded his second shutout of the season. 

Alvernia is back in action Saturday when they travel to Eastern Mennonite University to face the Royals. Kickoff is set for 5:00 PM.
