Harrisonburg, Va. (September 17, 2022) - Alvernia University (2-1-3) tied with Eastern Mennonite University (1-4-1) 0-0 Saturday evening in non- conference men's soccer action at Eastern Mennonite. 

The Golden Wolves were tested within the first five seconds of the game when Eastern Mennonite's Ford DeVault was one on one with Alvernia keeper Evan Solley, who made a great save to deny DeVault. 

Alvernia's Ryan Cogill and Connor Kraycik both had shots in the first half but were unable to put them on frame. Justin Fetrow and Travis Slear both tallied a shot as well. 

In a quiet first half, the Golden Wolves found themselves outshot 7-4 with the score tied at 0. 

Alvernia came out firing in the second half, ripping off three shots in the first ten minutes of the half with two of them on target. Fetrow and Kraycik both tallied one. 

Kraycik would have another opportunity in the 69th minute but was denied by Eastern Mennonite keeper Andrew Arledge to keep the contest tied at 0. 

The Golden Wolves would hold off a late shot by the Royals to keep the game tied, which is how the game would end. 

Evan Solley ended with two saves and secured his third shutout of the season. 

The Golden Wolves were led by Kraycik with three shots, two of them on goal with Cogill and Fetrow each tallying two shots. 

Alvernia has a quick turnaround as they host Rutgers- Camden on Monday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
