Reading, Pa. (Sept. 19, 2022) - An early second half goal by Alvernia University (3-1-3) sophomore Ryan Cogill was all Alvernia needed to defeat Rutgers-Camden (3-4-1) on Monday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action.

After a scoreless first half, Cogill tallied Alvernia's only goal in the 49th minute after Connor Kraycik sent a ball into Cogill in a crowd of players. Cogill controlled it on one bounce and fired it into the top corner of the goal to give Alvernia the 1-0 lead.

Three minutes later, Rutgers Camden made an attempt to tie it up, but Alvernia keeper Evan Solley kept the Raptors off the board.

Solley made two more saves during the second half and had five total on the afternoon to preserve Alvernia's third straight shutout. 

Alvernia outshot Rutgers-Camden 16-9 overall, including an 8-5 margin on net. 

Cogill's goal is his second of the season, and both are game-winning goals.

The Golden Wolves return to action on Wednesday as the host Susquehanna University.
