Stockton, NJ (Sept. 17, 2022) - Stockton University (5-2-1) needed just one goal to defeat Alvernia University (1-3-2) 1-0 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action at Stockton.

Stockton got off two shots early - one off target and one saved by Alvernia's Brynn Bock - before connecting with the back of the net in the ninth minute. Stockton's Heather Bertollo was able to knock down a cross and fire into net to give the Osprey the early 1-0 lead.

The Golden Wolves were held to just two total shots on goal. Both came in the final minutes of the first half, but Alvernia was unable to connect.

Bock made seven saves in net for Alvernia to keep the Golden Wolves within one the entire game, but Alvernia's offense was unable to get off another shot on net the rest of the way as Stockton came away with the 1-0 win.

Alvernia is back in action on Wednesday at Goucher.
