Glassboro, NJ (Sept. 28, 2022) - Alvernia University (6-3) fell to #2 Rowan University (9-0) 3-0 on Wednesday night in non-conference field hockey action at Rowan.

Rowan started off fast, firing in a shot in the 7th minute that Alvernia's Lexi Boettcher was able to save with her glove. Boettcher made a second save less than a minute later to keep Rowan off the board.

The Profs broke through in the 17th minute with a goal on a nearly empty net after Boettcher was drawn out of the goal. 

The Golden Wolves were held shotless in the first half as the Profs took a 1-0 lead into the break.

Alvernia's only shot on goal opportunity came early in the second half, but the Profs made the save to hold the 1-0 lead.

Rowan extended its lead with a penalty stroke goal in the 38th minute, and made it a 3-0 game just over a minute later with a goal by Liz Fox.

Alvernia did not have another opportunity on net the rest of the way the Profs came away with the 3-0 win.

Boettcher finished with five saves in 45 minutes of action. Hannah Wolfe played the final 15 for Alvernia. 

Alvernia is back in action on Saturday with a 10:00 AM game against Cabrini.
