Reading, Pa. (Sept. 29, 2022) - Cabrini University (6-3) edged Alvernia University (2-5-2) with a 1-0 decision on Thursday night in non-conference women's soccer action at Alvernia. 

Cabrini held Alvernia shotless in the first 45 minutes, but Alvernia was able to keep the Cavaliers off the board with Brynn Bock making three saves in the opening half to keep it scoreless going into the second frame. 

Cabrini fired off four shots in the opening 11 minutes of the second half, but Bock and Alvernia's defense were able to keep the Cavaliers off the board.

Alvernia also was finally able to put pressure on the Cavaliers in the opening minutes of the second half, putting up five shots in the opening 17 minutes of the second half. But,, Cabrini was able to hold the Golden Wolves off to keep it locked at 0-0.

The Cavalier finally broke through in the 67th minute with a goal inside the right post to break the scoreless tie.

Alvernia had three more looks on goal in the final 13 minutes, but were unable to convert as Cabrini came away with the 1-0 win.

Bock finished the night with nine saves on net. Haley Dougherty led Alvernia's offensive push with three shots, including one on goal.

Alvernia is back in action on Saturday as the Golden Wolves open their MAC Commonwealth schedule on the road at Hood College.
