Julia Beaven saved three of the six shots she saw in the first ten minutes before Franklin fired the game winner into the back of the net, tallying her second goal of the game. Palmer found Sydney Bradley in the Valiant's zone, Bradley then laid the puck off to a streaking Franklin who fired a shot into the back of the net to give Alvernia a 3-2 advantage eight minutes into the third period.
