Men's Golf Finishes Third at Albright

New Tripoli, Pa. (Oct. 11, 2023) - Alvernia University Men's Golf took third place on Wednesday at the Albright Fall Invitational, hosted at Old Homestead Golf Club.

The Golden Wolves posted a team-score of 319 and finished eight strokes back of first-place finisher Eastern University. Eastern's Zach Bruecks took low-medalist with a round of 2-under 70.

Alvernia was led by Jack Lynam and Shawn Williams, who each finished in a tie for third overall in the field of 15 with rounds of 3-over 75.

After posting a 4-over 40 on the front nine with a birdie on the par four 6th hole, Lynam started off his back nine with two birdies through the first four holes. Lynam pared the 10th before posting a birdie on the 11th. He then put up a five on the par five 12th hole before posting a birdie on the par three 13th. He closed out the remainder of the back nine with four pars and a birdie to finish off his round of 75.

Williams started his day off with a birdie on the par five 1st hole. He moved back to even with a bogey on the 4th hole and went on to finish the front nine with a 1-over 37. He posted a birdie on the par four 11th hole and was 2-over the rest of the way. Williams finished with 11 pars and two birdies on his round.

Finishing in third for Alvernia and 12th overall was Jackson Hoovler with a round of 84. Hoovler's round was highlighted by a 2-over front nine and a birdie on the par four 15th hole.

In fourth for Alvernia and finishing in 13th overall was Matthew Davies with a round of 85. After a 10-over front nine, Davies settled in for a 2-over on the back nine which included a birdie on the par three 17th.

Rounding things out for Alvernia was Andrew Bauer with a round of 92 to finish in 15th overall.

The Golden Wolves are back in action on Monday for day one of Arcadia's Battle at Bulle Rock.
