Hood Grabs Low Medalist Honors, Golden Wolves Take Second at Alvernia’s Fall Invitational

Mohnton, Pa. (October 20, 2026) - Alvernia University's Quinlan Hood fired in a low round of 71 and secured low medalist honors Tuesday afternoon at the Alvernia Fall Invitational at LedgeRock Golf Club.

Quinlan Hood carded a one under 71 en route to the first place finish and took home low medalist honors after a match of cards on the back nine to best Landen Benner from Arcadia.

The Alvernia Maroon team took second place with a total team score of 299 and were just two strokes behind the winners, Bloomsburg. Alvernia's Gold and Grey teams finished in a tie for eighth place with team scores of 326.
Hood started his day on the first hole and after an opening hole bogey, he carded five pars in his next six holes before posting a birdie on the par five eighth. Hood tallied a double bogey on the ninth hole to card a three over 39 on the front nine. Hood then made the turn to the back nine and tallied birdies on ten and 12 before a par on the 13th. Hood carded a bogey on 14 to get back to even par on the back nine before going ballistic on the final four holes. Hood carded back to back birdies on 15 and 16 before a par on the challenging par four 17th. Hood headed into the 18th two strokes off of the lead and needing an eagle to finish in a tie for first place and Hood did just that. After a good tee shot put him in the fairway, Hood pulled fairway wood from the bag and from 250 plus yards fired an absolute dart into the 18th green and stuck it to about two feet to give him a shot at eagle. Hood knocked in the eagle put to card a four under 32 on the back nine and finished with a round of 71. Hood's back nine of 32 gave him the better back nine over Arcadia's Landen Benner to secure low medalist honors, the first of his career.

Allen Kim, Matthew Overholt and Chase Smith all fired in rounds of 76 for the Golden Wolves and finished in a tie for 15th place.

Kim recorded a 37 on the front nine and rattled off eight straight birdies to start his round. He continued his consistency on the back nine with seven pars and a birdie on the tenth but a big number on the 16th saw him post a 39 on the back nine and a 76 overall.

Overholt tallied a 41 on the front nine with three pars but posted birdies on the eight and ninth before making the turn and rattling off a one under par 35 on the back nine with eight pars and a birdie at the 14th to card the round of 76.

Smith rounded out the Golden Wolves with a round of 76 and carded a 40 on the front nine with three birdies and a par before posting an even par 36 on the back nine with five pars and two birdies.

Brody Calle finished in 20th place after a round of 77 and carded a 39 on the front nine after seven pars. Calle then tallied a 38 on the back nine with five pars and a birdie at the 16th.

The Alvernia Grey team was led by Jakob Chapman who fired in a round of 79 en route to a T22 finish. Chapman carded a 42 on the front nine with five pars but recorded a 37 on the back nine including eight pars to post the round of 79.
