Mohnton, Pa. (October 28, 2026) - Albright College and Alvernia University wrapped up the annual Yocum Cup at LedgeRock Golf Club on Wednesday. Albright secured a 6-4 victory after defeating the Golden Wolves in singles matches on day two.
How It Happened:
Kenton Lightburn kicked off the singles round in match one. Despite entering the back nine one up and extending his lead to two up through hole 14, Albright's Chris DiRita won the final four holes to rally for the victory. In the same group, Eugenio Paganoni faced Albright's Andrew Kowalinski and fell 5 & 4.
Jakob Chapman faced Albright's Oliver Liljeblad in the next group. Chapman trailed early but rallied to win three of the final four holes on the front nine, entering the back nine just one hole down. Chapman continued his momentum by birdying back-to-back holes to take a one-up lead. However, Liljeblad won holes 15-17 to close out the match 2 & 1. Jacob Dewitt secured the Golden Wolves' first match win of the day. Dewitt dominated the front nine to build a four-up lead. Despite losing three holes on the back nine, Dewitt held on for the victory.
Colby Seislove dropped his match 6 & 5, but teammates Matthew Gagliardi and Zachary Neuin picked up two important wins. Gagliardi battled Albright's Charles Bailey in a tight match. Gagliardi won four holes on the front nine, but the match remained all square heading into the back nine. He extended his lead to two up through the first three holes, but Bailey won three of the next four to tie the match with two holes remaining. Gagliardi's birdie on hole 17 proved to be the difference, as the players tied hole 18 to secure Alvernia's second win of the day. Neuin also earned a convincing victory, winning his match 4 & 2.
Despite Matthew Overholt earning a 2 & 1 victory in match 10, Albright's wins in matches eight and nine gave the Lions the six points needed to claim the Yocum Cup.
