Fleetwood, Pa. (October 27, 2026) — Alvernia University and Albright College kicked off their annual Yocum Cup earlier today with four-ball matches at Moselem Springs Golf Club. The Golden Wolves trail the Lions after day one by a tightly contested score of 3-2. Day two will flip back to the Golden Wolves' home course, Ledge Rock Golf Club.
How It Happened:
- The first four-ball match was between Zachary Neuin and Colby Seislove for the Golden Wolves, who faced off against the Lions' Jonatan Liljeblad and August Fredrik Alhanko. After things were evened up after two holes, Albright took holes three, seven, and eight to take a three-point lead over the Golden Wolves. Neuin and Seislove fought back, taking holes nine and 16, but dropped hole 18 to the Lions, who took the match by two holes.
- Allen Kim and Jakob Chapman took on Charles Bailey and Thomas Kowalinski in the second four-ball match of the day, and after nine holes, the Golden Wolves were one up on the Lions. Kim and Chapman would secure an insurance point on the 15th hole to go two up on the Lions and would finish that way to even up the match.
- The third four-ball match took place between Brody Calle and Matthew Gagliardi of the Golden Wolves and Filip Hjerten and Oliver Liljeblad for the Lions. After a tied first two holes, Albright jumped ahead on the third hole. The Golden Wolves would swing the match back in their favor quickly on holes six and seven, right before the turn. The Golden Wolves then dropped holes 10, 12, 14, and 15 consecutively to fall behind the Lions again.
- The next four-ball match was between Quinlan Hood and Jacob DeWitt against Ashton McKechan and Archie Stoner. Stoner and McKechan caught fire early, taking four of the opening six holes, and rode that momentum through the entirety of the match to land five up on Hood and DeWitt.
- The final four-ball match to tee off was between Matthew Overholt and Chase Smith and Chris DiRita and Keelan Smith. Overholt and Smith went two up after holes five and six, but the Lions immediately took one back on hole seven. On the back nine, Overholt and Smith took holes 10 and 15 and ultimately ended the round two up.
Up Next:
- Alvernia will look to bounce back on its home course of Ledge Rock tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. to regain the lead in the Yocum Cup. While it is Alvernia's home course, it is not a course Albright is unfamiliar with, as they competed in the Alvernia Invitational last Tuesday.
