Grantham, Pa. (Oct. 21, 2023) - #5 Messiah University (13-2, 5-0) used a seven goal first half en route to an 8-0 win over Alvernia University (2-12-1, 1-3-1) in MAC Commonwealth women's soccer action at Messiah on Saturday.

The Falcons scored early and often in the first half, netting their first goal in the eighth minute and taking a 2-0 lead in the tenth minute. They added another two in the 19th and 21st minutes, and then made it a 5-0 game on a converted penalty kick in the 32nd minute. The Falcons then scored two goals in less than 30 seconds in the 41st and 42nd minutes to take a 7-0 lead into the half.

The Falcons came out of the half and added their eighth and final goal of the night in the 65th minute.

Messiah did not allow a shot by Alvernia all game, as the Falcons outshot the Golden Wolves, 25-0.

Alvernia keeper Brynn Bock recorded six saves in the first half, and Mikayla Giuliano added one in the second half.

Alvernia is back in action at home on Wednesday hosting Hood for its penultimate game of the season.
