Reading, Pa (October 3, 2023) - Alvernia University (1-8-2) fell to FDU-Florham (8-4-1) by a 6-0 decision on Tuesday night in non-conference women's soccer action at Alvernia.

The Devils got on the board late in the tenth minute on a goal as the Devils drew Alvernia keeper Katelyn Dreibelbis out of net and got around her for the goal for the 1-0 lead. FDU added onto its lead three minutes later on a penalty kick goal that went just past the reach of Drebelbis off the right post. 

FDU kept it rolling in the first half, adding additional goal in the 20th and 24th minutes to take a 4-0 lead. Alvernia had an opportunity go off the crossbar and a second one be saved as the Devils took a 4-0 lead into the half.

FDU continued to fire as the second half opened. The Devils scored again in the 51st minute to make it a 5-0 game, and scored their sixth and final goal in the 61st minute.

Alvernia was held to just one shot on goal in the second half as FDU came away with the 6-0 win.

Haley Dougherty led Alvernia with four shots. Macy McDonough, Olivia Swartz, and Kalyn Keen each had two shots.

Alvernia is back in action and back into conference play on Saturday at Eastern.
