Dallas, Pa (October 4, 2023) - Alvernia University (1-4) fell to Misericordia University (5-0) 7-2 in a non-conference women's tennis matchup Wednesday afternoon at Misericordia. 

Lily Summerson and Leah Bouchard tallied one of Alvernia's two points in the #1 doubles match when they took down Emily Brecker and Erin Cridge 8-6. 

The #2 doubles duo of Jillian Laughman and Monica Nguyen fell to Hailey Loughlin and Isabella Aniska 3-8 and Sarah Mies and Megan Well dropped the #3 doubles match to Cassie Benderavich and Gabrielle Chantiloup 2-8 as the Cougars took a 2-1 lead after doubles play. 

The Golden Wolves grabbed only one point from singles play which came in the #1 singles match when Bouchard took down Brecker 6-2, 6-3. 

Laughman fell to Lydia Barbour in the #2 singles match 2-6, 3-6 and Summerson fell in the #3 singles match 3-6, 2-6 to Loughlin. 

Nguyen dropped the #4 match to Aniska 0-6, 1-6, Mies fell to Chantiloup 0-6, 1-6 in the #5 slot and Wells dropped the #6 singles match to Teresa Thomas 3-6, 0-6. 

Alvernia is back in action on Sunday when they travel to Moravian to take on the Greyhounds at 12:00 PM.
