Reading, Pa (November 10, 2023) - Alvernia University (4-1, 2-1) fell to Arcadia University (5-0, 3-0) 3-0, in a UCHC women's ice hockey matchup Friday night at BodyZone.

The Knights netted two goals in the first period and the third in the second en route to the 3-0 shutout victory.

Arcadia scored its first goal within the first three minutes of the first period when Berklee Hibbard scored an unassisted goal to give the Knights an early 1-0 lead.

The Knights made it two just four minutes later when Hibbard tallied her second thanks to assists from Kianna Sillant and Haylee Kos to put Acadia up 2-0.

Arcadia scored its final goal of the game in the 18th minute of the second period when Phoebe Roberts found the back of the net to make it 3-0 Arcadia heading into the final intermission.

The Golden Wolves fired 22 shots at the Arcadia net with 13 going on target but Alvernia could not find the back of the net as Arcadia secured the 3-0 victory.

Juliana Rodgers tallied 16 saves in two periods of action for the Golden Wolves and Julia Beaven recorded six in one period of action.

Julia Franklin tallied a team high six shots on goal, Sydney Bradley recorded five and Khenzie Connick, Lexi Hooper and Kathryn Palmer all fired three shots on target for the Golden Wolves. Carolyn Burton led Alvernia with a team high five blocked shots.

Alvernia is back in action tomorrow when they travel to Arcadia for game two of the series at 7:00 PM.
