Reading, Pa. (March 25, 2023) - Farmingdale State College (8-1) scored 14 unanswered goals as the Rams took a 16-2 win over Alvernia University (4-4) on a rainy and cold Saturday afternoon of non-conference men's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

The Rams scored two goals in the opening quarter to jump out to a 2-0 lead.

Alvernia got one back in the opening 90 seconds off the shot of Ryan Gillman, and evened it up at 2-2 just under three minutes later with a goal from Kenny Howley. 

But, Alvernia would be held scoreless the rest of the way as the Rams scored four goals in the second quarter to take a 6-2 lead into the half. Farmingdale then added four in the third quarter and six in the fourth quarter to take the 16-2 win.

Dane Sabarese made 11 saves in net for Alvernia. Jack Kenney finished with 11 faceoff wins and six ground balls.

Alvernia is back in action on Wednesday as the Golden Wolves host Messiah University to open up MAC Commonwealth play.
