Lackner Nets 100th Career Goal as Alvernia Edges Piedmont, 18-16

Davenport, Fl. (March 8, 2023) - Alvernia University (4-1) junior Haleigh Lackner scored her 100th career goal as the Golden Wolves edged out Piedmont University (4-4) with an 18-16 decision on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference women's lacrosse action in Davenport, Florida.

With her sixth goal of the game, Lackner became the 14th player in Alvernia Women's Lacrosse history to reach the 100-goal milestone. Lackner went on to finish the game with seven goals and also added two assists.

In a game that saw 11 ties and nine lead changes, Alvernia had the final say as the Golden Wolves netted two goals in the 34 seconds midway through the fourth quarter. Alvernia then kept the Lions off the board the rest of the way to come away with the 18-16 win and leave Florida with two wins.

Piedmont jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead with two goals in 13 seconds to lead 2-0 after 84 seconds of play.

Alvernia answered on the ensuing draw of Piedmont's second goal as Lackner took the draw right down the field and scored an unassisted goal to get Alvernia on the board. Alvernia then evened it up at 2-2 as Meagan Moky scored with 12:39 remaining.
