Reading, Pa. (April 1, 2023) - Albright College (3-8, 1-1) closed out the game on a 6-0 run as the Lions defeated Alvernia University (4-6, 0-2) 10-3 on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth men's lacrosse action at Alvernia.

The Lions jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but Alvernia evened it up at 2-2 with goals from Ryan Gilman and Jack Keenan to close out the first quarter.

Albright then scored the only goals of the second quarter to take a 4-2 lead into the half.

Gilman netted his second of the afternoon to bring Alvernia within one, 4-3, after the opening minute of the second half. But, Alvernia was held scoreless the rest of the way as Albright scored six unanswered for the 10-3 win.

Dane Sabarese finished with 13 saves in net for Alvernia.

Jack Kenney finished with seven ground balls, and Michael Ferrara had three caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Alvernia is back in action on Wednesday hosting Lebanon Valley.
