Golden Wolves Fall to Dutchmen, 16-7

Reading, Pa (April 5, 2023) - Alvernia University (4-7, 0-3) fell to Lebanon Valley College (7-5, 1-2) 16-7, in a MAC Commonwealth men's lacrosse matchup Wednesday afternoon at Alvernia. 

The Dutchmen got out to a big lead early with eight goals in the first quarter. Carson Frey tallied three goals and Jake Bollinger added two more as LVC took an 8-0 lead after the first 15 minutes of play. 

Lebanon Valley netted two more goals in the first two minutes of the second quarter with Bollinger tallying both of them to give the Dutchmen a 10-0 lead. 

The Golden Wolves got on the board with just under six minutes left in the second quarter when Jack Keenan netted an unassisted goal to make it 10-1. 

Colin Hughes found the back of the net for LVC and put the Dutchmen back up ten, 11-1. 

The Golden Wolves responded with two goals in a minute, both by Sawyer Senio to cut the Dutchmen lead to 11-3 with less than two minutes to go in the half.

The Dutchmen grabbed one back before the half to extend the lead to 12-3 going into the half. 

Lebanon Valley came out of the half and scored three goals in the third quarter to push the lead to 15-3. 

Hayden Carling netted a goal for LVC in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter to make it 16-3. 

The Golden Wolves scored the final four goals of the game with Jack Keenan netting his second, Colin McFadyen and Peter Capasso both tallied goals and Jack Kenney scored his first collegiate goal to make it 16-7. 

Dane Sabarese started in net for Alvernia and tallied 13 saves. 

The Golden Wolves were led by Keenan with two goals and two assists, Senio netted two goals and McFadyen, Kenney and Capasso all scored goals. Kenney also tallied 14 faceoff wins. 

Alvernia is back in action next Wednesday when they travel to York College to take on the Spartans at 7:00 PM.
