St. David's, Pa. (April 26, 2023) - Alvernia University (4-11, 0-7) fell to Eastern University (8-8, 5-2) in a 23-1 decision on Wednesday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth men's lacrosse action at Eastern.

The Eagles led 17-0 through three and a half quarters before Ryan Gilman scored Alvernia's only goal of the afternoon with 5:33 to play in the third frame. Eastern went on to score six more goals for the 23-1 final.

Jack Kenney finished with 13 faceoff wins on the afternoon to set a new single-season record for Alvernia. Kenney now sits at 143 faceoff wins on the season with one game to go. He has surpassed the previous record holder in Christian Chambers, who finished 2017 with 139 faceoff wins.

Dane Sabarese finished with 19 saves in net for Alvernia.

The Golden Wolves are back in action on Saturday for their season finale as Alvernia hosts Stevenson.
