Collegeville, Pa. (Sept. 16, 2023) - Alvernia University (0-2) dropped a 7-2 decision to Ursinus College (1-0) on Saturday morning in non-conference women's tennis action at Ursinus.

Alvernia picked up a point at #1 doubles as Leah Bouchard and Lily Summerson took their match 8-5. But, Alvernia dropped #2 and #3 doubles as the Bears took a 2-1 lead into singles action.

Alvernia picked up another point as Bouchard took her singles set, 6-3, 6-4. Alvernia had a few other tight matches in singles as Summerson's first set at #3 singles went to a tiebreaker and a decisive third set. But, Ursinus came away the match. Monica Nguyen also had her match at #4 singles go to a tiebreaker set, but Ursinus again came away with the match as the Bears went on to win the match, 7-2.

Alvernia is back in action on Thursday at Penn State Berks.
