Owings Mills, Md. (Sept. 30, 2023) - Alvernia University (1-7-2, 0-0-1) opened up MAC Commonwealth play by playing to a 0-0 draw against Stevenson University (2-4-4, 0-0-1) on Saturday afternoon in women's soccer action at Stevenson. 

The 0-0 tie on Saturday marks the second consecutive tie between the two programs after they played to a 1-1 draw in the 2022 season finale. Prior to that tie, the two programs had never had a tie in their previous 14 matchups.

The Mustangs peppered Alvernia with shots through the first 45 minutes, outshooting the Golden Wolves 16-1, including six on target, in the first half. 

Alvernia came out of the half with fresh life for the final 45 and fired off 10 shots, including six shots on target, but Stevenson was able to hold off Alvernia as the two played to a 0-0 tie.

The Mustangs finished with 20 shots to Alvernia's 11. Macy McDonough led Alvernia with four shots, including three on goal.

Brynn Bock recorded her third shutout of the season in goal for Alvernia with nine saves.

Alvernia is back in action on Tuesday hosting FDU-Florham.
