Chester, Pa (October 19, 2024) - Widener University (6-7, 2-1) scored two second half goals to secure a 2-0 victory over Alvernia University (6-8-1, 1-2) in a MAC Commonwealth women's soccer matchup Saturday afternoon at Widener. 

The Golden Wolves and the Pride went into the half tied at zero but the Pride tallied two goals within three minutes of each other to secure the 2-0 victory over the Golden Wolves. 

How it Happened 

• A scoreless first half was highlighted by the Pride sending eight shots at the Alvernia net but only had two go on goal, both of which Alvernia keeper Brynn Bock saved as the game went into the half tied at zero. 
• Widener broke open the scoring in the 70th minute when Maggie Boyes tallied an unassisted goal to make it 1-0 Pride. 
• The Pride netted a second goal just three minutes later when Charlotte Burke also scored an unassisted goal to make it 2-0 Widener to secure the 2-0 victory for the Pride. 

Inside the Box Score

• Alvernia's Tayler Flaherty recorded the only shot for the Golden Wolves. 
• Brynn Bock made three saves in net for Alvernia.
