Frederick, Md (October 29, 2024) - Alvernia University (9-7-3, 3-3) used two first half goals to power themselves to a 3-0 shutout victory over Hood College (4-11-2, 1-5) in a MAC Commonwealth men's soccer clash at Hood. 

Nate Stoltzfus got things going for the Golden Wolves with his first goal of his senior campaign to put Alvernia up 1-0 after 20 minutes of action. Connor Kraycik then tallied the second of the first half before Zeke Zambrano added the final insurance goal just two minutes into the second half to secure the 3-0 victory for the Golden Wolves. 

How it Happened

• The Golden Wolves rattled off six shots at the Hood net before Nate Stoltsfuz put one into the back of the net to give the Golden Wolves an early 1-0 lead after 21 minutes. 
• Alvernia's Connor Kraycik doubled the lead just two minutes later thanks to an assist from Dominic Flowers to push the Alvernia advantage to 2-0. 
• The Blazers fired four shots on the Alvernia net but could not find the back of the net as the Golden Wolves took a two goal lead into the halftime break. 
• The Golden Wolves came out of the half on fire after Flowers tallied his second assist of the game after connecting with Zeke Zambrano who buried the ball into the back of the net to make it 3-0 Golden Wolves. 
• The Golden Wolves defense and Evan Solley held the Blazers to just three shots in the second half, none of which found their way on target as the Golden Wolves secured the 3-0 shutout victory over Hood. 

Inside the Box Score 

• Nate Stoltzfus, Connor Kraycik and Zeke Zambrano all netted goals for the Golden Wolves and Kraycik also recorded a game high five shots on goal. 
• Eli Klinger rattled off three shots with one on goal, Travis Slear recorded a shot on goal and Cristian Topovich tallied four shots. 
• Evan Solley earned the win and the shutout for the Golden Wolves in net and tallied two saves.
