Golden Wolves Blow By Lions, 53-6

Reading, Pa (November 26, 2024) - Alvernia University took down Penn State Altoona by a score of 53-6 Tuesday night in a non-conference wrestling dual on Alvernia's Jack McCloskey Court.

How it Happened

The Lions received a forfeit at the 125 pound bout and then the Golden Wolves received one at 133 pounds to tie the dual at six but Alvernia Garrett Gehr recorded a pin over Altoona's Isaiah Skilcosky in 2:06 in the 141 pound bout to make it 12-6.
Sebastiano Spina from Alvernia then tallied a 19-2 tech fall over PSU Altoona's Michael Munoz in the 149 pound match and Nolan Brown took down Remington Fleck from Altoona the by fall in the 157 pound bout to push the Alvernia lead to 23-6.
Ryan LePore then received a forfeit at the 165 pound match before Alvernia's Nathan Lackman tallied a pin over Altoona's Andrew Weaver in 1:43 in the 174 pound match to make it 35-6 Golden Wolves.
Alvernia's Hayden McLellan, Jason Chiodi and Owen Reber all received forfeits at 184 lbs, 197 lbs, and 285 lbs respectively as the Golden Wolves secured the 53-6 victory over the Lions.
James King from Alvernia and Tammar Reza from Altoona then faced off in a 133 pound exhibition bout with King recording a pin in just nine seconds.
