Hershey, Pa. (Feb. 16, 2024) - Alvernia University (11-11-2, 9-9-1) fell to Lebanon Valley College (7-17, 6-13) by a 4-0 decision on Friday night at HersheyPark Arena in UCHC Men's Ice Hockey action.

How it Happened

• After a scoreless first period, Lebanon Valley broke the 0-0 tie late in the second period on a breakaway goal with four and a half minutes left in the second period.
• The Dutchmen then made it a 2-0 game just over a minute into the third period.
• Lebanon Valley capped it off with two goals in two minutes to make it a 4-0 game.
• The Golden Wolves fired three late shots in an attempt to spoil Lebanon Valley's shutout bid, but Alvernia could not break through as the Dutchmen took the 4-0 win.

Inside the Box Score

• Blake Tosto led the Dutchmen with two goals and an assist.
• Logan vande Meerakker led Alvernia with 12 shots overall and Isaac Chapman finished with a team-high seven shots on goal. 
• Jackson Fellner finished with 25 saves in net.

Of Note

• The 4-0 loss marks the first time this season Alvernia has been shutout. It is only the third time in program history Alvernia has been held scoreless.
• Alvernia has out-shot its opponents in eight of its 11 losses.
• Alvernia has locked up a postseason berth, but its seed is still to be determined. The Golden Wolves need to pick up at least two points Saturday, and need Manhattanville to lose in regulation or overtime/shootout to preserve a home playoff game. The Valiants will close out their regular season against King's. Manhattanville defeated the Monarchs 6-0 earlier this evening.
