Vande Meerakker, Fellner Earn All-UCHC Honors

Hilton, NY (Feb. 27, 2024) - Alvernia University Men's Ice Hockey graduate student Logan vande Meerakker and first year Jackson Fellner earned All-UCHC honors for their performances during the 2023-24 season, as announced by the United Collegiate Hockey Conference on Tuesday.

Vande Meerakker, a forward, earned First Team All-UCHC honors. He is the first player in program history to earn First Team honors from the UCHC. Fellner, a first year goalie, was named to the All-Rookie team. He is the second player in program history to earn All-Rookie honors, joining Matthew Davies who earned the honor last season. 

Vande Meerakker had a fantastic year for the Golden Wolves, appearing in 27 games for Alvernia. He finished the season with a team-high 33 points off of 14 goals and 19 assists. He finished the season with a plus-24 rating. His 33 points led the UCHC this season. HIs 14 goals on the year ranked him fifth in the UCHC and his 19 assists ranked him sixth. Vande Meerakker ranked 25th in the nation in points per game with 1.22 and his 33 points ranked him 23rd in the nation. Vande Meerakker also rode two separate streaks of six and seven games with at least one point. He also had eight multi-point games this season. 

Jackson Fellner finished his first year with an 8-9-1 record in net for the Golden Wolves. Fellner played in eight games and just over 1,073 minutes. He allowed 48 goals - 20 of which were power play goals - for a 2.68 goals against average. He finished the year with 582 saves and a .924 save percentage. Fellner made a season high 47 saves in a win over Nazareth back on November 18th and 12 games with 30 or more saves. He finished the year ranked second in the UCHC with 582 saves and his 32.33 saves per game ranked him fourth in the conference. He finished fifth in the UCHC with his .924 save percentage.

Utica's Brian Scoville was named both the Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Ty Outen of Stevenson was named Goalie of the Year. Eric Vitale of Utica was named Rookie of the Year, and Gary Heenan of Utica was named Coach of the Year.
