Stockton Downs Alvernia, 18-2

Galloway,N.J. (March 6, 2024) - Alvernia University (2-4) fell to Stockton University (5-0) 18-2, in a non-conference women's lacrosse matchup Wednesday afternoon at Stockton. 

The Osprey held a one goal, 3-2 advantage after the first 15 minutes and held the Golden Wolves scoreless in the final three quarters en route to the 18-2 victory. 

How it Happened 
  • Alvernia got on the board first with just under nine minutes to go in the first when Haleigh Lackner connected with Sherrin Smith to put the Golden Wolves up 1-0. 
  • Stockton jumped ahead with two goals in as many minutes to grab the 2-1 lead. 
  • Gracie Brower leveled the score with three minutes to go in the quarter on a powerplay opportunity thanks to an assist from Olivia McCambly. 
  • Stockton took the lead late in the first quarter to take a 3-2 advantage into the second quarter. 
  • The Osprey held the Golden Wolves scoreless in the second quarter and tallied nine of their own to take the ten goal, 12-2 lead into the half. 
  • Stockton outscored Alvernia 6-0 in the final two quarters of play to secure the 18-2 victory.
