Reading, Pa. (April 13, 2024) - Alvernia University Men's Tennis (5-6, 1-2) dropped a tight MAC Commonwealth match to Albright College (6-6, 1-2) on Saturday afternoon at the Governor Mifflin Courts.

Alvernia led 2-1 after singles, but the Lions took four of the six available points at singles to take the 5-4 win.

How it Happened

• An 8-1 win at number one doubles from Lucas Berger and Jayden Lewis, and an 8-3 win at number two doubles from Thomas Figurelli and Luke Brisbois gave Alvernia the 2-1 lead through doubles action.
• Berger also took his number one singles match 6-1, 6-2 to give Alvernia the 3-1 lead, and Jayden Lewis made it 4-1 with a 6-1, 6-4 win at number two singles.
• But, the Lions stormed back from there. Albright picked up two-set wins at number five and number six singles to make it a 4-3 match. The Lions then edged out two narrow wins - including a three-set win with two tiebreakers - at number three and number four singles for the 5-4 match win.
