Reading, Pa. (April 13, 2024) - Albright College (11-2, 3-0) handed Alvernia University (3-6, 2-1) its first conference loss of the season as the Lions blanked Alvernia 9-0 on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's tennis action at the Governor Mifflin Courts.

How it Happened

• The Lions jumped out to a 3-0 lead through doubles action. Alvernia's closest opportunity to a point in doubles came at #2 doubles, but Jillian Laughman and Monica Nguyen fell 8-5.
• The Lions cruised to straight set, 6-0, 6-0 wins at #5 and #6 singles, and won also won in two sets at #1, #3, and #4 singles.
• Jillian Laughman put up a threat to the shutout attempt by the Lions as she took the first set to force a tiebreaker in the third set. But, the Lions took the tiebreaker 10-8 to secure the win over Laughman and the 9-0 match win.
