Golden Wolves Run by Immaculata, 4-0

Reading, Pa (September 24, 2024) - Four different Golden Wolves scored as Alvernia University (5-3) downed Immaculata (4-5) 4-0, in non-conference field hockey action Tuesday evening at Alvernia. 

The Golden Wolves netted two first half goals thanks to Ava Michael and Hailey Miller and then tallied two more in the third quarter after Ana Jones and Kathryn Palmer goals to secure the 4-0 victory for the Golden Wolves. 

How it Happened 
  • The Golden Wolves tallied three shots and three corners in the first six minutes before Ava Nealy assisted Ava Michael to put Alvernia up 1-0 early in the first quarter. 
  • Alvernia doubled its lead three four minutes into the second quarter when Abbie Buck directed the ball to the stick of Hailey Miller, Miller then put the ball past the Immaculata goalie and into the back of the net to make it 2-0 Golden Wolves. 
  • The Golden Wolves fired five shots at the Immaculata goal in the final ten minutes of the half but could not find the back of the net as they took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break. 
  • Alvernia extended the lead to three in the first five minutes of the third quarter when Kathryn Palmer assisted Ana Jones to make it 3-0 Golden Wolves. 
  • The Golden Wolves added one more in the third quarter after Palmer got in on the scoring action thanks to an assist from Kelsy McClintock to make it a 4-0 game. 
  • The Alvernia defense held the Mighty Macs to just one shot in the fourth quarter, which went wide as the Golden Wolves secured the 4-0 victory.
