Dutchmen Fly By Golden Wolves, 6-1

Lebanon, PA (Sept. 28, 2024) - Lebanon Valley College (6-4) scored three first half goals and never looked back as the Dutchmen downed Alvernia University (5-3-2), 6-1, on Saturday evening in non-conference men's soccer action at Lebanon Valley.

With the loss, Alvernia drops to 5-3-2 overall. The Dutchmen improved to 6-4 and its six goal today against Alvernia marked its second straight game scoring six times. 

How it Happened
  • The Dutchmen took control from the jump and scored in the 9th minute to take the 1-0 lead. They then made it a 2-0 game with a goal in the 20th minute and had a 3-0 lead by halftime after a goal in the 35th minute.
  • Alvernia had three shots on goal in the first half - two from Connor Kraycik and one from Nick Colleti - but the Dutchman keeper made the saves and kept Alvernia off the board to keep it a 3-0 game going into the half.
  • The Dutchmen kept it rolling to open the second half and made it a 4-0 game in the 57th minute.
  • Alvernia got on the board with a header goal from Zander Templeton off the assist of Zeke Zambrano in the 70th minute.
  • The Dutchmen scored two more goals - one in the 79th minute and another in the 85th minute - for the 6-1 win.

  • Zander Templeton and Zeke Zambrano finished with a goal and an assist, respectively. 
  • Connor Kraycik led Alvernia with three shots on goal.
  • Evan Solley had three saves in just over 81 minutes of time in net.
  • Five different Dutchmen scored a goal today for Lebanon Valley, and the Dutchmen finished with 24 shots on the day.
