Rochester, N.Y. (September 7, 2024) - Alvernia University (2-1-1) conceded a goal in the first five minutes of the second half that proved to be the difference as they dropped a non-conference men's soccer matchup to the University of Rochester (1-1-1) 1-0, Saturday afternoon at Rochester. 

How it Happened 

• A scoreless first half was highlighted by Rochester outshooting the Golden Wolves 6-3. Alvernia's Joshue Avila recorded a shot that was saved, Ryan Cogill hit the woodwork and Zeke Zambrano fired a shot wide as the Golden Wolves and the Yellow Jackets went into the half tied 0-0. 
• The Yellow Jackets got on the board in the 50th minute after a ball was crossed into the box from the right side that found the head of Kamal Ibrahim who found the back of the net to make it 1-0. 
• The Golden Wolves would fire six more shots at the Rochester goal in the second half but only put one on target as the Yellow Jackets held out for the 1-0 victory over Alvernia.

• Joshue Avila recorded three shots with one going on goal for Alvernia. 
• Travis Slear recorded the other shot on goal for the Golden Wolves.
• Ryan Cogill, Zeke Zambrano, Connor Kraycik and Nate Stoltzfus all recorded shots for Alvernia.
