Will White found the back of the net in the final ten minutes of the final period to power the Golden Wolves to a 3-2 victory over Arcadia University (8-9-2, 6-7-2) Friday night in a MAC men's ice hockey clash at BodyZone.
Prior to the game, the Alvernia Men's Ice Hockey program recognized its 2025 senior class.
The Golden Wolves and the Knights both tallied two goals a piece in the first period but a scoreless second saw the game head to the final 20 minutes locked at two. White then directed the game winner into the back of the net in the final ten minutes of the third period to secure the 3-2 victory over the Knights.
How it Happened
- Brock Mueller broke things open in the first five minutes of the first period thanks to assists from Christian Heckman and Justin Pare as the Golden Wolves took an early 1-0 advantage.
- The Knights responded almost immediately, 36 seconds later after Michael Hertzberg assisted Brendan Dicker to tie the game at one.
- Nine minutes of hockey went by before the Golden Wolves grabbed the lead back with just over five minutes to go in the period when Alvernia captain Sawyer Senio put the puck in the net thanks to assists from Vincent Servizzi and Patrick Del Vecchio to give the Golden Wolves a 2-1 lead.
- Arcadia responded quickly again with a goal in the next two minutes when Dicker netted his second goal of the game thanks to an assist from Connor Williams on a power play to level the score at two heading into the first intermission.
- A scoreless second period was highlighted by the Golden Wolves tallying ten shots on goal to Arcadia's eight. Joey Arnold led the way for Alvernia with four shots on goal in the period and Matthew Davies tallied two as the games headed into the final intermission tied at two.
- The Golden Wolves then found the winner with 10:10 left in the final period after Arnold fired a shot from the blue line that found White on the left post, White then deflected the puck into the back of the net and gave Alvernia the 3-2 lead with just over ten to go in the game.
- The Knights fired 13 shots at the Alvernia net in the final ten minutes of the game with eight going on target but Alvernia's Jacob Stern saved all eight shots to secure the 3-2 victory over the Knights.
