Reading, Pa (October 1, 2025) - Alvernia University (2-6-2) dropped a non-conference men's soccer matchup to the #15 University of Scranton, 4-0, Wednesday evening on Alvernia's Turf Field. 

The Royals held just a 1-0 lead at the half but then tallied three goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half to secure the victory. 

How it Happened 

• The Royals rattled off ten shots at the Alvernia net with five going on goal before finding the opening goal in the 40th minute on a long throw-in by Justin Curran that was flicked into goal by James Mayo gave Scranton the 1-0 lead at the half. 
• Scranton came out of the halftime break and netted a second goal 41 seconds into the half after another long throw-in resulted in a goal. 
• The Royals tacked on a third goal six minutes later thanks to a Preston Rushmore goal that deflected into goal to make it a 3-0 Scranton advantage. 
• Scranton added one more insurance goal in the 60th minute after Tyler Colton curled in a strike from the left side of the 18 yard box and inside the far post to secure the 4-0 victory for the Royals. 

Inside the Box Score

• Connor Kraycik recorded two total shots for Alvernia and registered its only shot on goal. 
• Cole Boughter and Jackson Taliani also tallied shots for the Golden Wolves along with Jordan Bosco. 
• Evan Solley recorded three saves in net for Alvernia and Nick Rothenberger tallied two saves in 25 minutes of action.
