Mustangs Down Golden Wolves, 2-0

Owings Mills, MD (Oct. 4, 2025) - Stevenson University (6-4-1, 1-0) scored two second half goals to take a 2-0 win over Alvernia University (2-7-2, 0-1) on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth men's soccer action at Stevenson.

After a scoreless opening 61 minutes, the Mustangs found the back of the net in the 62nd minute. The Mustangs were awarded a freekick. They saved a header from going out of bounds and volleyed the ball back into play and it was tapped into net by Jacob Greene to take the 1-0 lead.

Just under six minutes later, the Mustangs made it a 2-0 game. Stevenson had a throw-in attempt that drew Alvernia keeper Evan Solley out of net. Stevenson's Owen Haviland then finished the throw-in off and past Solley in net.

The Golden Wolves had one shot attempt the rest of the way, which came from Aidan Courtney in the 76th minute. But, the attempt was off target. Alvernia did not threaten the rest of the way as Stevenson took the 2-0 win.

Alvernia was held to just one shot on goal throughout the game, which came in the first half by Connor Kraycik. Solley finished with seven saves in goal for Alvernia.
