Reading, Pa. (Oct. 12, 2025) - Albright College (3-2, 2-2) jumped out to a 21-0 lead and rolled from there as the Lions defeated Alvernia University (0-5, 0-4), 38-14, on Saturday afternoon in MAC Football action at Alvernia.
Albright scored 14 in the opening quarter and made it a 21-0 game with an early second quarter touchdown before the Golden Wolves got on the board. Alvernia got within 10 coming out of the half, but Albright scored 14 unanswered to close out the game.
With the Albright win, the Lions now lead the series, 3-2, over the Golden Wolves. Albright has won back-to-back meetings for the first time since the two programs began playing each other in 2021.
How it Happened
- Albright received the opening kickoff and went right to work. The Lions took five minutes off the clock and went nine plays, 74-yards for a touchdown. The drive was capped off by a 24-yard touchdown reception from Chase Roberts to Alden Stickler.
- The Lions then made it a two score game on their second possession. Albright converted a trick play as Logan Rothberg connected with Alden Stickler for a 22 yard reception to give the Lions a 14-0 lead. That score would hold going into the second quarter.
- The Lions continued their hot start to open the second quarter. Albright carried a drive over from the first quarter and took a 21-0 lead as Rothberg was on the receiving end of a 7-yard reception from Roberts seven seconds into the second quarter.
- The Golden Wolves strung together a nice drive on their first possession of the second frame to get on the board. After a 29 yard kickoff return by Adonis Dixon, a Jayden Stanfield rush and JT Timmons pass to Damon Ogden for just Alvernia's second first down of the game. Alvernia moved the chains again following an Albright penalty and a 9-yard completion from Timmons to Stanfield. Alvernia got into the red zone on a 6-yard rush by Stanfield. After stalling out on the goal line a few players later, Alvernia got fresh life with an unsportsmanlike penalty against the Lions. Dante Viccharelli needed just one touch as he kept it himself for a 1-yard touchdown run to make it a 21-7 game with 8:!2 remaining in the second quarter. The drive 48 yards but took six and a half minutes off the clock.
- Albright closed out the opening half with a 28-yard field goal to take a 24-7 lead into the half.
- The Golden Wolves came out of the half and took their opening drive right down the field. Three straight completions from Timmons to three different receivers put Alvernia on the Lions 30, and an unsportsmanlike penalty on Albright moved the ball down to the Lion's 15-yard line. Timmons then through his fourth straight completion of the drive, this time finding Zacai Manigo for a 15-yard connection to make it a two-score game - 24-14- with 12:07 to play in the third quarter.
- Alvernia then got a big defensive stop on the ensuing Albright drive. The Lions worked their way down to the Alvernia 10-yard line. A pass for a loss on third down put Albright behind the chains for a 4-11. The Lions opted to go for it, and Alvernia made the stop as Kashantis Anderson broke up the pass attempt. But, the momentum shift did not last long as Alvernia had to quickly punt its next drive away.
- The Lions got great field possession on the Alvernia 35-yard line on the ensuing drive, and put together a 13-play, six minute long drive that moved into the fourth quarter and culminated with a 3-yard rush for a touchdown to make it a 31-14 game with 12:02 to play.
- Both teams traded possessions throughout the fourth quarter until Albright got on the board one more time with a six-yard catch for a touchdown with 3:17 to play to make it a 38-14 game. Alvernia did not threaten to score again as the Lions took the 38-14 final.

- Albright finished the afternoon with 346 yards of total offense. The Lions held Alvernia to 107 yards of offense and just nine yards rushing.
- Albright finished with nearly 37 minutes of possession time to Alvernia's 23 minutes.
- JT Timmons went 10-for-23 for 98 yards and a touchdown in the air.
- Jayden Stanfield led Alvernia with 21 yards rushing and 30 yards receiving.
- Ta'Jier Burrus and Kashantis Anderson each had eight tackles. Anderson also had three pass break-ups, and Burrus and one tackle for a loss.
