The Spartans took the lead in the first half after they were awarded a penalty kick and converted the opportunity and took a 1-0 lead into the half. The Golden Wolves then came back and controlled the offensive side of the ball in the second half and netted a 63rd minute leveler off the foot of Jackson Taliani. The Golden Wolves pushed for a winner in the last 25 minutes of the game but were unable to find the back of the net as the game ended in a 1-1 draw on a rainy Saturday evening.

How it Happened
  • The Spartans controlled the tempo of the game in the first 35 minutes and sent seven shots at the Alvernia net but only sent one shot on goal, which Alvernia's Evan Solley saved.
  • York netted the first goal of the game in the 32nd minute after the Spartans were awarded a penalty kick after a foul in the box. York's Owen Henderlite stepped up to the spot and buried his shot on the left side of the net to make it a 1-0 York lead.
  • Alvernia's Joseph Washington had a chance to level the score in the final seven minutes of the first half after Washington had a shot on goal but it was saved as the game headed to the half with the Spartans holding a 1-0 lead.
  • The Golden Wolves came out flying after the halftime break and rattled off seven shots at the York goal before finding the equalizer in the 63rd minute. The Golden Wolves were awarded a free kick near the corner flag, Eli Klinger stepped up and whipped a ball into the box to Austin Chambers who flicked it over to Jackson Taliani. Taliani then took a touch to settle himself and then finished the ball into the back of the net to level the score at one.
