Golden Wolves Drop Two at Arcadia Tri-Match

Glenside, Pa. (October 18, 2025) - Alvernia University (7-11) dropped both of its matches Saturday at Arcadia's Tri-Match with the Knights and Stockton University in women's volleyball action at Arcadia's Alumni Gymnasium. 

The Golden Wolves dropped the first match of the day to host Arcadia in straight sets, 25-22, 25-17, 25-20. Alvernia then dropped the second match in straight sets, 25-10, 25-13, 25-10. 

Match 1: ALV: 0, ARC: 3

How it Happened 
  • The Golden Wolves and the Knights traded points back and forth at the start of the first set of the day as the set was tied at seven but the Knights rattled off an 8-2 scoring run that gave them a 15-9 advantage. 
  • Alvernia then responded by scoring six of the next eight points to cut the Arcadia lead to two, 17-15. 
  • Arcadia then pushed its lead back to five, 23-18 after a small scoring run but the Golden Wolves bounced back yet again with four of the next five points to pull back within two, 24-22, but the Knights tallied the 25th point of the set and took a 1-0 match lead. 
  • The Knights jumped out to an early 10-5 lead in the second set but Alvernia responded with a 5-2 run and pulled within two, 12-10. 
  • Alvernia got within one, 14-13, but the Knights then rattled off an 8-1 scoring run that pushed the lead to eight, 22-14. 
  • The Golden Wolves tallied three straight points to make it a five point deficit but Arcadia recorded the final three points of the set to take the second set, 25-17, and took a 2-0 match lead. 
  • Arcadia took another early lead at the start of the third set and grabbed a four point, 8-4 lead but the Golden Wolves responded with six of the next eight points to pull within one, 10-9. 
  • The Golden Wolves and the Knights then traded points back and forth with Arcadia holding a 13-12 lead before the Knights rattled off a 7-3 scoring run that pushed the Arcadia lead to seven, 20-15. 
  • Arcadia then recorded five of the final nine points of the set to secure the 3-0 victory with a 25-20 win in the third set. 

Inside the Box Score 
  • Hailey McDevitt led the way for Alvernia with 11 kills and only committed one attack error. McDevitt also tallied 11 digs and added eight assists and an ace. 
  • Allie Evangelista recorded eight kills, ten digs and a block. Emma Remaley hammered home seven kills and added eight digs. 
  • Marli Emrich tallied a team high 15 assists. 

Match 2: STO: 3, ALV: 0

How it Happened 
  • Stockton jumped out to an early 7-4 lead in the first set before rattling off a 12-2 scoring run that pushed its lead to 19-6. The Osprey then recorded six of the final ten points of the set to take the first set by a score of 25-10. 
  • Stockton then took another early lead at the start of the second set, a 7-1 advantage before the Golden Wolves ripped off an 8-1 run that swung the lead in their favor, 9-8. 
  • The Ospreys then recorded a 17-4 scoring run to end the second set and take it 25-13 and took a 2-0 match lead. 
  • Stockton took an early lead for the third set in a row, but this one was just a two point, 8-6 lead over the Golden Wolves. 
  • The Ospreys then recorded seven of the next ten points of the third set to push the lead to 15-9. Stockton then ended the third set on a 10-1 scoring stretch to secure the 25-10 victory in the third set and a 3-0 match victory.
