Reading, Pa. (October 29, 2025) - Alvernia University (4-8-5, 0-4-2) dropped a MAC Commonwealth women's soccer matchup to Widener University (7-7-3, 2-4-0), 1-0, Wednesday afternoon at Alverina. 

Widener took the early lead in the first nine minutes of the game and then held off the Golden Wolves in the final 80 minutes to secure the 1-0 victory. 

How it Happened 

• The Pride grabbed the lead just over nine minutes into the contest after Charlotte Burke assisted Allison Gomez to make it a 1-0 Widener lead. 
• The Golden Wolves outshot the Pride in the final 20 minutes of the first half with Tayler Flaherty tallying a shot on goal that was saved and Reese Hamilton fired a shot wide but Alvernia could not find the back of the net as the game headed to the half with the Pride holding a 1-0 advantage. 
• The Golden Wolves recorded a corner and two shots in the second half, one of which was saved off the foot of Emily Walter as the Pride secured the 1-0 victory over the Golden Wolves. 

Inside the Box Score 

• Tayler Flaherty and Emily Walter recorded Alvernia's only shots on goal. 
• Katelynn Nedimyer, Reese Hamilton and Megan Reuter all tallied shots. 
• Abby Rowley recorded three saves in net for the Golden Wolves.
