Alvernia to Host Delaware Valley in Home Finale

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 31, 2025) - Alvernia Football is back at home on Saturday to host Delaware Valley University in the 2025 home finale.

Delaware Valley leads the series against Alvernia, 4-0. The Aggies are 2-0 on Alvernia's campus, with Delaware Valley taking the last meeting at Alvernia, 28-12, in 2023. The 2023 meeting was closely contested. At the time, the Aggies were ranked 24th in the country. Alvernia trailed by just seven, 7-0, at the half. Delaware Valley then took a 21-0 lead in the third quarter before Alvernia closed back within nine, 21-12. Delaware Valley closed things out with a late fourth quarter touchdown for the 28-12 final.

Alvernia enters Saturday in search of its first win of the season. The Golden Wolves are coming off a 32-14 loss against Widener last week. Alvernia is averaging 11.7 points per game and 237.7 yards of offense per game. Defensively, Alvernia is allowing 37.6 points per game and 386.4 yards per game. Teams are averaging 214.9 yards per game on the ground against Alvernia, but Alvernia's defense is fifth best in the MAC in allowing 171.6 passing yards per game.

Alvernia's offense is led by Jayden Stanfield. Stanfield leads Alvernia with 173 rushing yards and 266 receiving yards on the year. He also is Alvernia's lead return man with an average of 22.9 yards per kick return. Alvernia's defense is led by McCabe Piavis, who has 56 tackles on the year, including 5.5 tackles for a loss. Anthony Hugee has 36 tackles on the year, and Kashantis Anderson has 30 tackles. Both Piavis and Anderson each have an interception for Alvernia as well.

Delaware Valley enters Saturday with a 4-3 record overall and a 4-2 record in conference play. The Aggies are in third place in the MAC, putting them in contention for a bowl series berth. The Aggies are coming off a 41-38 win over Stevenson on Saturday, marking the second straight game they have scored 41 points. They also defeated FDU-Florham, 41-14, on October 18. The Aggies are averaging 30.43 points per game, which ranks them second in the MAC to Stevenson. They average a MAC-leading 389.7 yards per game, including 265.1 yards per game in the air. Defensively, the Aggies allow 26.14 points per game and allow 363.7 yards of offense per game.

Delaware Valley's offense is led by quarterback Mike Galasso. Galasso is fifth in the nation with an average of 16.7 yards per completion. Galasso also averages 252.7 yards per game and has 1,769 yards on the season. He has 14 passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. Galasso spreads the wealth between Gavin Migliori and Alvaro Lora. Migliori is averaging 18.4 yards per reception, and Lavaro is averaging 18.9 yards per reception. Both have four receiving touchdowns. Defensively, the Aggies are led by Jeremiah Clark, with 80 tackles on the year. Linebacker Thomas Arcaroli has 12.5 tackles on the year with five sacks and a forced fumble.

Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM at Alvernia. The stadium opens at 11:30 AM with ticketing taking place between the Campus Commons and Physical Education Center. Alvernia will also hold its senior recognition at 12:35 PM.
